On Sunday January, 15 2017 at Ultimate Fighting Championships Fight Night 103: Rodriguez vs. Penn in Phoenix, Arizona at Talking Stick Arena.
Nina "The Strina" Ansaroff (7-5-0) defeated Jocelyn Jones-Lybarger (6-4-0) by submission (Rear-Naked Choke) at 3:39 of the 3rd round in their 115-Pound professional MMA match.
Nina is a 5'5 thirty-one year old fighter originally from Weston, Florida and now training out of American Top Team in Coconut Creek, Florida with her girlfriend UFC 135-Pound Champion Amanda Nunes.
Ansaroff is coming off of a one year layoff (due to the flu) since a loss to Justine Kish.
Nina has fought the best in the world including notable victories against Munah Holland (5-3-0) and Jessica Doerner (5-4-0) This was however Nina's biggest victory to date.
We are sure to see her take on a top ten opponent in her next fight and from the high praises she has been getting from her coach Din Thomas, we can expect big things.
Here is a paragraph from Wikipedia about Nina's start in MMA.
Ansaroff started practicing Taekwondo at the age of 6. She began
training in mixed martial arts in 2009 as a way to lose weight and to
help keep in shape following a motorcycle accident. She made her
professional debut in 2010.
