Zoila Frausto Defeats Jessica Pene
Zoila Frausto advanced to the semifinals of the Bellator Fighting Championships women's tournament Thursday night at Bellator 25, easily controlling Jessica Pene to win a unanimous decision.
It wasn't a particularly exciting fight -- certainly nothing like the fireworks of Frausto's previous fight, a first-round knockout of Rosi Sexton -- but it was a dominating performance by Frausto, who won 30-27 on all three judges' cards. Frausto said afterward that she was disappointed in her own performance and that cutting to 115 pounds had been difficult for her.
"I won, but 115 was a little hard, so I have to get used to do this," Frausto said. "But I won and that's all that counts."
Frausto, who improved her record to 8-1,showed that even on an off night she's a good enough striker to beat a game opponent in the previously undefeated Pene. Megumi Fuji is unquestionably the favorite in Bellator's 115-pound women's tournament, but Frausto could give Fuji a run for her money.

Ultimate Women Challenge: This is the old trailer. Currently the show is in full production in an undisclosed location. Unfortunately, due to nondisclosures, contracts, and agreements that we have in place, we can only release certain elements of the show to the public. Michelle Ould is on the show just not in the "old trailer." Casey Noland is now on the show. Julie Kedzie is a fighter on the show, not a coach. Barb Honchak will replace Jessica Aquilar. Kaitlin Young will replace Melissa Steel as Melissa unfortunately broke her arm. Brighton Hutton will be replacing Alexis Davis. As far as Brandy Hainey is concerned, as with Michelle Ould, she was not in the show when the old trailer was shot. We hope this clarifies any of your questions or confusion.From thier Facebook page
