Ronda Rousey defeats Taylor Stratford




On Friday January, 7 at Tuff-N-Uff in Las Vegas, Nevada

Ronda Rousey (3-0-0) defeated Taylor Stratford (6-1-0) by submission (armbar) at 24 seconds of the first round in their semi-final match of the Tuff-N-Uff 145-pound amateur tournament Championship.

After the match Ronda announced that she will be turning pro in February and therefore she will not advance in the tournament and Taylor Stratford will be given a pass to the finals of the 145-pound tournament.

In the opening round of the tournament Ronda defeated Autumn Richardson by submission in the first round.

Ronda is best known for her Bronze medal that she won in Judo at the 2008 Olympics in China.

  1. Taylor didnt even tap. If that ref was more educated he would have let it keep going. Ronda did not want to be near taylors hands, you could tell that for sure.

  2. Ronda should had just broke her arm. If Taylor was so good she had got out of the armbar. BTW, her arm was straight. It is an amateur fight the ref is suppose to stop fight if the fighter is in danger of being hurt. How could you tell anything about Taylor hands in 24 seconds lol.

  3. Lol yea she terrified as took her down , went for an arm , almost swept her from the guard and caught her arm (tight I might add) seamlessly and fast. He stoped it fast but it sounded like he thought she tapped and it was an amature fight. And either way how is that a reflection on Rhonda , you goof ball?

  4. if you were watching the fight you would all noticed she slipped out of her arm bar once, who is to say she wasn't about to again? How does any of you know if she isn't double jointed? It was a amateur fight but these two are very much months from being pro! I say Unfair! let the damn fighter choose if she wants to tap!
