Ashley Sanchez (2-2-0) defeaed Erin Toughill (10-3-1) by unanimous decision in their 160-pound professional MMA match.
Erin had not fought since May, 8 2009 and Ashley last fought MMA April, 3 2008.
Ashley trains at Central Illinois Combat Club where she is coached by Bob Long.
Hopefully we can see Ashley drop down in weight now and fight at 155-pounds same for Erin.
Well, I am not really surprised. Erin had one good showing against a non-ranked opponent (Karen Williams) in her last 4 or 5 fights.
ReplyDeleteIMO, she lost to Jan Finney, and she won a really close match against Emily Thompson.
Erin looked great against smaller opponents. The sport has grown, has become more competitive and has left her behind.
I don't think we will ever see Erin vs Cyborg, which is a shame, but I wish her luck...
Toughill was a great fighter. I'd love to see her fight Cyborg, Carano, Rousey, etc....
