#5 ranked 125-pound fighter Carina Damm (17-6-0) defeated Sheila Amazon (1-1-0) by submission (armbar) in the first round of their 125-pound professional MMA match.
This the second fight in a row that Carina has faced less than stellar competition. Her last opponent Antonia Deize was making her pro debut against Carina. Although Carina had lost three fights in a row before this two fight winning streak she is now on, at least she could take pride in the fact that she had lost to three top five ranked fighters. (Tara LaRosa, Cat Zingano and at 135-pounds Hitomi Akano.)
I understand that coming off of a three fight losing streak you want to get your confidence back but this is not the correct way to accomplish that.
