On Saturday July, 9 at Jewels: "15th Ring" at Shinjuku Face in Tokyo, Japan.
#12 ranked 135-pound fighter Hitomi “Girlfight Monster” Akano(18-8-0) defeated #5 ranked 135-pound fighter Roxanne “The Happy Warrior” Modafferi (15-8-0) by unanimous decision in their two round 135-pound professional MMA match.
Hitomi is coming off of a win against Chisa Yonezawa in March of this year. Her last loss came against Miesha Tate in the finals of the Strikeforce 135-pound tournament.
This fight with Roxanne was originally scheduled to take place on New Years Eve but Roxanne was forced to pull out when she became ill before the fight.
Hitomi trains out of Smackgirl AACC in Japan.
