Summer Artherton vs. Sarah McLeod



On Saturday December, 11 at VFC 33 in Omaha, Nebraska at the Mid-American Center in Council Bluffs.

Summer Artherton (2-1-0) will face off against Sarah McLeod (1-2-1) in a 115-pound amateur match.

Summer Artherton is coming off of a loss to Jordan McDonald at NAAFS: "Eve of destruction" in September. Before that fight she had won her first two matches by TKO.

This fight is taking place in Summer's hometown of Omaha, Nebraska.

Sarah McLeod is also coming off of a loss she was defeated by Emily Whitmire on November, 6th. That fight however was at 125-pounds.

  3. Emily is right. McLeod's record is missing her loss to Cheryl Chan by arm bar at MMA at the Rock in July 2010.

  4. McLeod's record is also missing her loss to Chelsea Borsoi. Both fights with Chan and Borsoi were not exhibition fights in fact the fight with Chan at 125lbs was the main event of a small card in BC.

  6. Who cares about records! They don't matter once the fighters are in the cage. Anyone can beat anyone on a given night. May the best fighter win. Go Sarah.

  10. lying won't make u a better fighter or help u gain respect. mma fighters who need to lie aren't good fighters to start with!

  12. SARAH MCLEOD your record is 1-4-1 not 1-2-1 like you said on your interview. your ONLY win was against a stripper that was over weight out of shape 5ft 2 inches and doesnt fight

  13. Sounds like there are a lot of jealous people out there of Sarah. No need to bad mouth people. I cheer for Sarah but also wish the best for Summer. If you think you can beat Sarah, then get to 115lbs and go fight her. I am sure she will accept the challenge. If you weigh too much to make 115lbs then don't expect Sarah to come fight at a heavier weight and expect it to be a fair fight which counts against her record.

  14. Clearly you are not an mma fighter or you are and also lie about your record. When you agree to a fight at a certain weight , unless its exhibition, and the fight takes place it counts on your ammy record. Like the previous post said, you can't pick and choose which fights count and don't count. fighter stats are created for a reason.

    And by the way this is about honesty. if it was jealousy surely these girls would pick someone with a better record to be jealous of.

    My fight with Keri Scarr was an exhibition bout, and it does not count on my official record.

    2 wins: Olesha Karrington (143lbs), Summer Artherton (115lbs)

    My kickboxing record is 1-1
    1 win: Angela Business (166lbs)
    1 loss: split decision to Chelsea Borsoi (136lbs)

    All of my fights are in 2010. My training consists of self-conditioning and sometimes hitting the heavy bag. I dont have a trainer and Im just an athlete who loves a challenge.

    On our fight, I apologized to you on fight night for missing the weighins the night before, due to delays in my 12-hour drive. I came to your hometown, self-trained, just eager to fight and excited to have a road trip with my good friend Laurie. I didnt have a corner or a coach, so I asked Laurie and my dad to sit in my corner, and consistently yell "calm and relaxed". I started in south paw for my first time against you, but after the first combo, I knew it wasnt the right stance for me. I tried to switch stance really quick and catch my balance, but you pinned me against the cage right away. You felt alot bigger against me and I remember being very mentally broken down for giving you such a big handicap. I really shouldn't have started in south paw, but I guess I underestimated you and I decided to experiment out of my comfort zone. It is what it is, and win or loss, every fight is a great learning experience. I love the challenge of fighting a larger opponent but I moved to the States less than 2 weeks after our fight, so that I can fight women in my weight class at 115lbs (instead of women who lean down to 125lbs). I also have plans to start training MMA with a trainer starting Jan 2011 so I will no longer be "self-trained". Also, I will no longer be experimenting with the south paw stance!!

    I have always given you great respect for your win over me, and your participation in these comments are just a sad reflection of your character. I would have expected more from you, but you are a blonde :)

    1. Sarah, have you been in any/many fights before you got in the ring? Like maybe back in your school days?? Cause you certainly look like a natural, especially considering you've had no fight training!

      And if you have, how'd they go? You put them hands to good use?
